RSA 1-1 Senegal

South Africa’s hopes of staying in the tournament hang by the thinnest of threads after they allowed Senegal claw a point in their second group match at the Mongomo stadium.
Orlando Pirates midfielder Oupa Manyisa fired the Bafana Bafana into the lead a minute after the restart when Tokelo Rantie was allowed too much space to spread a pass to the right flank.
Souley Mbodji pulled the Lions of Teranga level on fifty nine minutes from a powerful header, the Bafana defence failing to clear their lines from a long Mame Diouf freekick.
Cheick Mbengue bravely blocked Rantie’s shot on seventy four minutes as Shakes Mashaba’s men pressed forward in desperate earnest.
South Africa must now beat Ghana on Tuesday and hope for a Senegal win against Algeria.
