Uganda Premier League side Express FC has parted ways with head coach Alex Gitta after a series of poor results that have seen Red Eagles win once in four games.

The club executive met on Tuesday evening and decided that they have parted ways with the coach for what was termed by reliable source as dismal run of results coupled with technical bench conflicts.

“It is a decision we have taken reluctantly but it’s a decision made in the best interests of Express football club and our supporters,” the source claimed.

The board is believed to have been patient with the coach till he failed to agree with his assistants in training, team selections and many other issues making the club to take the decision.

Following the decision the club has handed Wasswa Bossa head coach role with Hassan Mubiru appointed as assistant coach while James Magola becomes goalkeeper coach.

Alex Gitta joined the Red Eagles last season with his firing becoming the fourth incident in UPL this season following Paddy Kintu at Lweza FC, Charles Ayiekoh at Soana and Deon Sserwadda at SC Villa.

He leaves Express in position 6th with 12 points from possible 24 in 2016/2017 season.
