Azam FC appoint Lwandamina as head coach

Tanzanian side Azam FC has confirmed the appointment of former Zesco United coach George Lwandamina as new head coach.

The Zambian who was recently unveiled as Technical Director for Zambian Super Division side Prison Leopards has penned a one-year deal to take over the reins at Azam.

The Chamazi-based side sacked Romanian trainer Aristica Cioaba after only 12 matches played in the Mainland Premier League due to poor results.

Azam said in statement: “We are happy to introduce, George Lwandamina, to be our new coach for one year contract.”

“We believe that Lwandamina’s coming, will continue to strengthen our team in the competition to win the league championship this season due to his good record and understanding of Tanzania football.

The 57 year old former Zambia national team ‘Chipolopolo’, has great successful in Zesco United of Zambia and Yanga SC of Tanzania.

After officially signing a contract to join Azam FC, Lwandamina is hoping to start the job officially when his licence is completed in the country.
