Dstv Premiership: SuperSport United pay a visit to Orlando Pirates

SuperSport United Football Club take on Orlando Pirates in the DStv Premiership clash this weekend at Orlando Stadium on Saturday night.

Matsatsantsa are going into this match highly motivated after winning 1-0 in  their last league match at home against Stellenbosch FC, courtesy of Teboho Mokoena’s long shot from the centre of the box).

United are currently  fourth on the log with 6 points after playing three matches.  They won two matches (Black Leopards 2-0 and Stellenbosch FC 1-0)and lost 3-1 against Golden Arrows.

This is going to be a tough and interesting one as the meeting between the two sides always produces goals.

“It’s a game that most players look forward to, it’s going to be tough as they have strengthened their team and look solid, I’m sure the technical team will come up with a solid game plan for us to win the game,” said the Matsatsantsa skipper Ronwen Williams.

According to Williams, the team has put the MTN8 Cup exit at the back of their minds and are now focusing on the league.

“We can’t dwell on our Cup exit, yes we were unlucky to retain our title but there is so much more to play for and this should be a learning curve for the team,” he said.

The Bafana Bafana goalkeeper further emphasized that it is important to aim for maximum points every time they take to the pitch.

“Every match is important, we strive to achieve maximum points at all times, and we had a good start to the league and must keep that going. We must also focus on taking one match at a time, plant the seeds each and every day,” the captain concluded.

The highly anticipated match will kick off at 18:00 CAT (19:00 EAT).
