Two first half goals from Herritier Nkonko gave Kabwe Warriors a 2-0 Premier League win over stubborn Green Eagles at a very difficult Independence Stadium in Choma.

It is super revenge for Kabwe Warriors who were beaten by Eagles last season both home and away.

Warriors utilised their chances though a lot of questions will be asked on the Green Eagles goal keeper Sebastian Mwange who never seemed comfortable after his first error which saw Nkonko take advantage and slot in the opener in the 27th minute.

Nkonko would again score a second 10 minutes after his first goal to send Warriors leading comfortable at the break.

Meanwhile Coach Aggrey Chiyangi still insist his team is fighting for the title and he won’t concentrate much on the set back but look into the weaknesses as they face Green Buffaloes in their next fixture.

“We are still going for the league and I really don’t know what happened with our goal keeper but will ask him because that is not the way he performs. We move on and we shall focus on the next games and utilise the chances we are creating to get goals. ” said Chiyangi.

And Tenant Chilumba who was elated with the result said he was happy that his team managed to win at a very difficult place. He attributed the win to his players following instructions and being clinical upfront.

“The boys played well and they followed instructions very well. We shall continue pushing and our aim is to get into the top four because Kabwe Warriors is a big team and for some time they have not been close to those positions. ” stated TC.

Asked if he was going for the title, Chilumba laughed it off.

“I can’t talk about the title at the moment. ” concluded TC.

Power Dynamos who had never lost at home to Nakambala Leopards ensured that record is intact as Benson Sakala got the all important goal to give Kelvin Kaindu the fourth win. Power remain top though only because of goals scored as the goal difference is the same with that of Power Dynamos.

Kobe Chipeta scored late in the game at home to Napsa Stars who were handed the fourth straight loss. The loss for Napsa take them second from the bottom while Forest go 13th. Napsa are a complete different team compared to the 2017 season.
