BRIEFS

Following the win by New Monze Swallows last weekend, Kabwe Youth Soccer Academy had pressure to avoid following in the steps of Mufulira Blackpool in 2016 who ended the season without a win the whole season.

KYSA produced their best performance of the season against a sorry Lumwana Radiants side, beating the team from North Western 2-0 on the day and caught with Napsa Stars on 8 points but have an inferior goa difference. Still in relegation zone. Frederick Mwimanzi opened the scoring and was doubled courtesy of the own goal from Shebani Kaunda.

Forest Rangers day was made much more comfortable after Gerald Chisha scored the second on the day after Damiano Kola had scored the first to get a rare win away to Nchanga Rangers.

Damiano Kola had put Forest Rangers ahead in the 35th minute, and the Gerald Chisha goal was enough to sixth position, same points with Kabwe Warriors who have a better goal difference against Forest Rangers.

Perhaps the most convincing performance of the day came from Zesco United as they beat Kitwe United coming from behind with goals from Jesse Were and own goal from Levy Makungu

Meanwhile, Green Buffaloes beat Zanaco 1-0 thanks to Felony Sitonya first goal of the season from the spot. It is a bad result for ZANACO who have now lost five games in 14 games and pushed them to eighth position.

Week 14 is done and the competition is proving to be stiffer and the difference in points are able to describe the completion. Week 15 is on in two days’ time.
