Gor Mahia perfect runs continues as Leopards fail to win

Gor Mahia continued with their perfect run in the 2014 Kenyan premier league season when they upset Mathare united 0-1 in  thrilling match played at the Kenyatta Stadium,Machakos on Sunday afternoon.

Dan Sserunkuma scored the all import goal taking his tally to two goals in two matches as Gor Mahia held on to the solitary goal despite Mathare United fighting to get an equalizer.

Gor Mahia begun the game like a house on fire as they fired from all cylinders.Jerim Onyango came to Kogalo’s rescue saving a Joseph Njuguna sublime freekick.

AFC Leopards settled to a goalless draw with visitors Ulinzi Stars in a highly physical game played at the Nyayo Stadium on Sunday Afternoon.

The draw was the second for both Ingwe and Ulinzi as they both failed to get a goal with Jacob Keli’s goal ruled for an offide.

Kevin Amwayi brilliant freekick was easily saved by impressive keeper Wycliffe Kasaya who remained relentless throughout the game.
Coach Nandwa rang in changes bringing on Bernard Mangoli for Charles Okwemba as Salim reacted immediately bringng onboard Kevin Simiyu but both team failed to supress the other as they searched for goals invain.

In the last twenty minute Nandwa brought on Bernard Mang’oli for Charles Okwemba while Salim Ali responded by introducing Kevin Simiyu for Salim Mohammed but this did little to alter the score line.

City Stars 1-0 Bandari

City Stars atoned for last week’s loss at the hands of Gor Mahia to upset visitos Bandari 1-0 in a fast paced game played at the Hope Centre in Kawangware on Sunday afternoon.

Dennis Nganga scored the all important goal in the 72nd minute denying Bandari a succesive win after they beat debutants KRA last week in Mombasa.

The win came as a welcome relief for City Stars Nigerian coach Robinson Ofwoku who had earlier promised to avenge the defeat to Gor Mahia last week as he walked home with his first win in his Kenyan premier league debut.
