Harare side Dynamos FC technical team could have been sweating ahead of the crucial Harare Derby against arch rivals Caps United this weekend.

But thanks to their gods, the big match has been postponed by Premier Soccer League.

The derby was set for the 65 000 seater giant National Sports Stadium, this is probably the second biggest match on the Zimbabwe Soccer league calender. Only dwarfed by Dynamos FC v Highlanders FC matches.

Nigerian Pastor Chris of Christ Embassy and his congregants have booked the giant Stadium and the other tangible stadium in Harare Rufaro Stadium is still under renovations by the owners Harare City Council. Putting a damper on the match.

Sources have reported that Dembare player refused to train on Wednesday after management paid them only part of their salaries. The source though could not confirm whether it was for a month only or its been accruing for a while.

Dynamos FC like many clubs in Zimbabwe have been going through difficult financials setbacks due to a plethora of reasons.

It is reported that players arrived as usual at the training base and changed into their training kits. But opted to sit awaiting management to address them.

There is a story that management tried to persuade the to train and promised that their moneys will be sorted by Friday. But the Mbare Boys would not budge.

On Tuesday the players wanted to boycott training but the team manager implored them to train. Promising that club management will send a party to address them on Thursday. Under protest the players trained with an indication that should their concerns not be addressed they won’t be a part to the drills by coach Llyod Mutasa and his technical team.

The cancellation of the match against their nemesis could not have come at a better moment than now. This should allow the club bosses to sort them setback before Dembare return to the playing turf in the week eight fixtures.

PSL had to contend with the cancellation because this derby is a potential cash cow especially stadium management, league and the host team. Its rivalry that brings the best in terms of expectations from both teams and their respective fans. Therefore only Rufaro Stadium and National Sports Stadium can accommodate that unique fixture. The sensibilities in postponing it are well and acceptable.

It is hoped that Dembare will its house in order by time the fixture is fulfilled.
