Former Rwanda international Jimmy Mulisa has been appointed to replace Gilbert Kanyankore Yaounde as the interim Coach of Amavubi.

The post fell vacant after Northern Irishman Johnny McKinstry was shown the door Thursday 18. Yaounde was initially given the mantle but was quickly dismissed, without clear reasons given.

“I’m happy to have been given the honor to serve my country in this capacity. It is a challenging job, but from my experience in the game and having worked with Amavubi before,I believe I’m equal to the task, ” The former APR striker said.

About the immediate assignment, away to the Black Stars, Jimmy acknowledged the importance of the game to him, the players and the nation at large, urging them to give their best as nothing is impossible in football.

“I have just met the players and I told them nothing is impossible in football. However, I will work on their mental strength.”

The 32-year old will not alter the current squad already in camp since he participated in calling them for the national duty.
