By Fredrick Nandulli

Harambee stars safely navigated to the second round of the 2015 Afcon

qualifiers albeit with a nervy ending following a 1-1 draw in the
sweltering heat of Moroni.
Kenya welcomed back goalkeeper Arnold Origi into the starting line up
alongside Francis Kahata and Edwin Lavatsa in attack.David Ochieng
‘Cheche’ was deployed in an unusual midfield position, perhaps to
curtail the Comoros’ forays.
Midfielder Ayub Timbe curled in a spectacular free kick on 57 minutes
to fire Kenya ahead.
Coach Adel Amrouche then introduced McDonald Mariga for Cheche with
25’minutes on the clock remaining.Comoros pulled the leveller on 72
minutes as the visitors struggled to keep their composure.Coach
Amrouche was dismissed from the dugout as tempers flared.FKF technical
director Jacob Mulee took temporary charge as Kenya held on to claim a
place in the second round.
The Harambee stars had won the reverse fixture 1-0 in Nairobi. They now
wait for the outcome of Liberia/Lesotho.
