Kenya to host CHAN 2018

Confederation of African football (CAF) have handed Kenya the exclusive rights to host the 2019 chan soka25east.com can reveal .

On Monday Caf announced in its website the resolution by the executive committee to hand over the mantle of hosting the prestigious African championship to Kenya.

The news came as a suprise to many Kenyans who had not anticipated the windfall especially after hue and cry from countries that participated in the 2013 Cecafa senior challenge cup hosted by Kenya.

Football Kenya Federation(FKF) Chairman Sam Nyamweya has earlier intimated about a big announcement preciding the Caf announcement that was also posted on their website.

In 1996 Kenya was also given the rights to host the African cup of Nations (Afcon) but later pulled out due to unavailability of funds only for South Africa to be chosen as the alternative host as they went to win the competition.
