Lusaka Dynamos 0-0 Kitwe United

Kitwe United dealt Lusaka Dynamos’ Barclays Cup hopes a crushing blow. Dan Kabwe had indicated before the game that the objective of the team is to play Barclays Cup this season and if that is realized, these are games that Dan Kabwe and his boys will have to start picking maximum points.

The Kitwe United keeper made magnificent saves from to leave the hosts eighth on 12 points, nine points adrift of leaders Zesco United. As much as we say, games are still plenty, this is becoming a big gap and teams fighting for honors should start responding to the demands of the Clubs. This season will not be an easy one. However, they cannot claim to have been unlucky against a spirited Kitwe United team that also missed chances to win the game.

Well done Kitwe United

As Lusaka Dynamos toiled, the away fans even enjoyed the luxury of cheering every pass as the Kitwe outfit kept possession in midfield. However, as the first half drew to a close, Dynamos began to show their class, even if they were guilty at times of over-elaboration.

Not surprisingly, Lusaka Dynamos attacked with increasing desperation as the minutes ticked down, but teams will be special this season to beat a Kitwe United team that look focused and have thrown away fear against big teams in the league

Lusaka based Kitwe United fan on the result:

“The way they played was magnificent, we didn’t come to make up the numbers, and we came to have a go. Every player was superb and there were opportunities for us to have won. We have to build on that. The main thing now is to prepare right for our weekend game against Forest Rangers who are also playing very well.”
