Lumwana Radiants beat 2015 super league champions Zesco United 3 nil  in week a 28 super league encounter played at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium on Tuesday evening.

Zesco United topscorer Jesse Jackson Were passed a late fitness test but could not start and made the bench together with other notable starters like Ben Adama, David Odhiambo and Anthony Akumu.

Marcel Kalonda was handed a rare start in their heart of defence to partner Daut Musekwa while U20 AFCON winning rightback Shemmy Mayembe started on the right.

Chisenga Lukwembe opened the scoring in the 45th minute for the North-Western based out-fit. Chanda Mushili doubled the lead in the 73rd minute as he scored his 5th goal of the season. Eddie Sinyangwe scored the third goal of the match with only seconds to the end of the match.

The loss is Zesco United’s second worst home loss after their 2014 four nil loss to Sensational Zanaco.

A win for the Ndola giants would have seen them go 3rd on the log with 49 points but they remain stuck on 6th with 46 points.
