Napsa Stars have continued their fantastic form at the summit of the Super league.  The pensioners beat Konkola Blades 1 nil courtesy of a Mathews Maleka 40th minute header.

The win was Napsa’s 4th win in a row and their 9th win from 16 games played so far. Napsa are 5 points clear (on 31 points) of second placed Lusaka Dynamos on (26 points).

Napsa Stars head coach Tenant Chilumba is pleased with the levels of concentration in his team but was also quick to please the opponents.

” Am happy with the levels of concentration and the maximum points. It’s a youthful team so we continue working on concentration. Konkola Blades played well, it’s was not an easy game . We will keep on pushing the boys and working on our mistakes,” said Chilumba

Konkola Blades on the hand lost their 8th game of the season. Coach Lewingtone Mujembe is happy with the display he saw despite the loss.

” We dominated the game overall, the only lapse was in defence.I am happy with the way the boys played compared to our last game despite the result. The next game we definitely need to win,” said Mujembe

ELSEWHERE

At the screvener Stadium also known as Chilata Nkana narrowly beat Red Arrows through a jimmy Chisenga own goal. The airmen gave a good account for themselves and could even won the match had they carried their scoring boots with them. This was Nkana’s 3rd win in a row and their 7th win overall while the loss was just the third for Honor Janza’s men.

Nakambala hosted Mufulira Wanderers at the Nakambala Stadiums in Mazabuka and the host proved too strong for Wanderers. This was only Nakambala’s 2nd win of the season with Maite losing for the 9th time this far.

In Lusaka at the Vodafone Woodlands Stadium Kalaba Chikwanda’s 9th Minute strike was the only goal of the game. Nkwazi winning their 6th game of the season. City of Lusaka need to start worrying as things keep moving from bad to worse with only 10  points collected from a possible 45.

 

Kabwe Warriors had a change in terms of coaches with Elijah Chikwanda at helm but results remain the same as they drew their 11th game out of 16 games played. Real Nakonde who all but bound for relegation collected a 6th draw.

 

Nchanga Rangers and Green Eagles played out to a goalless draw. This is a result many pundits expected.

In Lumwana the hosts Radiants handed Lusaka Dynamos their second loss of the season with Zambia U20 National team Winger Musonda Siame scoring the only goal of the game in the 90th minute.
