Rayon Sports started the Azam Rwanda Premier League 2016/2017 campaign on a high note downing Police FC 3-0 in a season opening match played at Stade de Kigali on Friday 14 September.

It took Rayon Sports just 20 minutes to find the net through Piorett Kwireza who received a nice pass and beat Police defenders before hitting with his right foot to score past Nzarora Michael.

Police FC had started the match strongly in making several attempts but none of them found the net and Rayon Sports replied the dominance with pacy attacks that resulted to their goal.

Police return rejuvenated after break and showed their intentions of recovering the one goal but Rayon Sports resolved to defending the better part of second half sitting behind the ball and protecting the lead.

At the 65 minute Shassiri Nahimanna sent a short range curl outside the to get into the net and extend Rayon Sports lead to two goals with later registering his second in 82nd minute for a brace.Rayon Sports defence worked hard to ensure that the match ended in their favour with their met unshaken.

Police FC increased the tempo of the match while Rayon Sports defence soaked the pressure that they were being subjected to, ensuring that the match ended without conceding.
