The President  of Djiboutian Football Federation [FDF], Mr. Souleiman
Hassan Waberi has been re-elected for another four year-term in office
during the election congress held at the National Technical Centre here in
the capital Djibouti on Sunday 11th December.

All stakeholders voted in favor of the president who won the election
unopposed as the stakeholders previously came to decision not to put
forward the candidacy of another contender, according to the president of
defending champions, Djibouti Telecom Football Club, Djabir Mohamed Duale.

In his post election address, the president thanked the stakeholders for
unanimously voting him to continue leadership of the country’s football.However Wabere reiterated he would not vie for a 3rd term if the country’s national team will not get positive  results in International competitions and improve their dismal Fifa ranking.

“I want make a commitment that at the end of my term I will not represent
myself as a candidate if I do not bring back tangible results from both
regional and continental levels” the president noted.

“Today I am very happy not only because you re-elected me, but because of
your strong support and determination to develop football in our country.
I and my committee can’t do anything without you [stakeholders]. We
succeeded 98% of the development programs I pledged in front of you four
years ago. Once again I count on you and I want you to work harder than
you have been working with us in the past and suerly we can reach a higher
level in football” President Souleiman Hassan Waberi said in his post
election address.

The president commended the minister for youth and sport, Mr. Hassan
Mohamed Kamil for his long-standing contribution to football in the
country.

“I take this opportunity to pay my tribute to the Secretary of State for
Youth and Sport HE Mr. Hassan Mohamed Kamil, a great friend and a
patriotic man who served our football for decades as a player, Coach,
Technical Director and general secretary of the FDF. I pay tribute to him
for all the sacrifices he made to the Djiboutian football and youth” the
president noted.

“On behalf of Djiboutian football family, I am very grateful to the

President of the Republic His Excellency Ismael Omar Guelleh for his
constant commitment to youth and sport and football in particular” Mr.
Waberi said.

Finally President Souleiman Hassan Waberi, thanked FIFA and CAF for their
constant support to Djiboutian football adding that without their
assistance his country’s football wouldn’t be there today.

The congress also approved annual financial statement for the year 2015
and as well as the 2017 budget.
