Nkana Football Club beat League leaders Zanaco FC 4-2 in a mouth-watering Zambian Super League Week 24 match played at Nkana Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Nkana came into the match on the back of a 5 game winning streak,while Zanaco had only lost once in their last 5 games .This was a highly anticipated match were Nkana was looking for revenge after Zanaco beat them 2-0 in the first leg in Lusaka.

The Bankers started strong as Saith Sakala missed two chances in the first 4 minutes of the match. Zanaco would later regret the missed chances as Nkana Football Club fan favourite Ronald ” Sate Sate” Kampamba scored his second goal in 4 matches as he headed in a Joseph Musonda corner in the 17th minute.

Both teams had chances but it was nkana who made the most of their chances as Walter
Bwalya scored a second from a Fred Tsimenga
pass in the 35th minute. Rodrick Kabwe who was Captain on the day would then pull one back with a brilliant volley from outside the box. This was first goal Scott Ngokene conceded in his last 5 games.

The momentum was cut shot as it only two minutes for Nkana restore its 2 goal lead when Simon Bwalya got onto a cross and headed past Toaster Nsabata. Nkana went into Halftime leading 3-1.

The second half began and Zanaco had the best chances as Richard Kasonde shot over and
George Chilufya hit the post in the 57th minite
but a minute later Isaac Chansa scored after he
beat the Nkana defence and Scott Ngokene
bringing the score to 3-2.

Sensational silenced the crowd at Chilata for some minutes but Nkana scored again in the 74th minute as Walter Bwalya took his league goals tally to 15.

Zanaco would have some chances including Scott saving a chance from Saith as Nkana held on to beat Zanaco 4-2.

Nkana have now moved to 50 points and reduce the gap to 5 points as Zanaco are still top on 55 points. Next up for Nkana is the Kopala derby .
