WRAPPING UP THE FIRST HALF OF THE SEASON IN THE SUPER LEAGUE
The half way mark of the FAZ MTN Super League is upon us, and Barclay’s Cup slot are up for grabs though ZESCCO United and Green Buffaloes won’t worry about that.
What a first half of the season we have witnessed. The only sure thing about this season is that there are no sure things! What a wild, wild season. None like I’ve ever seen before. This is a season were Kabwe Warriors beats Power Dynamos only to lose to New Monze Swallows.
YES…it’s been a WILD ride with plenty of twist and turns to talk about making the FAZ MTN Super League like no other league around Africa. Over the years, it managed to bring us a wide range of entertainment and this season doesn’t look any different
What is different? Well… we don’t have the usual suspects challenging for the title. This year we are seeing teams like Green Buffaloes challenging for the top spots. By now, we usually have a clear top team who has the best chance to win the title but not this year. It seems that the Zambia Top Team Musical Chairs” will continue. I thought it was going to be Zanaco ..! We thought it was going to be Power Dynamos … and even Lusaka Dynamos and ZESCO United not after what we have seen in the first half of the season
Only 12 points separate the top 6 teams in the league making it one of the tightest title races in recent times.
Lets not forget Emmanuel Okutu and how this virtually unknown over the hill player made goal scoring look easy for Kabwe Warriors so far. Spencer Sautu pushing the Eagles all the way and Lazarus Kambole making ZESCCO United look good.
My results of the season so far is New Monze Swallows Vs Kabwe Warriors and KYSA Vs Lumwana Radiants.
First week too National Assembly beating Buildcon without be one result we will always remember.
Okay….we can go on and on and on about what is different this year but we need to get down to business and talk about Week 19…
Join me later as I do the preview for week 19.
