The Battle of Zimbabwe ended in a stalemate after Dynamos and Highlanders could only play to a 1-1 draw in a match played at the refurbished Rufaro Stadium in Harare.

The match started in high pace and intensity with Dynamos’ Christian Epoupa continuing with his purple patch when he scored for the Harare side in the second minute with a header following a cross from Ocean Mushure.

Dynamos continued threatening with real purpose after the goal and had more early chances through the Cameroonian, but he was twice denied by Highlanders goalie.

With the capacity crowd- not shy of 40,000, expecting more,the players did not dissapoint as the high tempo entertainment continued through out the opening half.

The second half provided as much excitement and entertainment with both teams contributing to a fantastic afternoon’s football.

There were chances after the resart when smashed Peter Muduhwa a shot over for Dynamos before Benson Phiri flashed a 20-yard drive inches wide of the top corner and Though Bosso missed with a back-post header on the hour mark.

It was on 62nd minute of the match when Highlanders equalised through Benson Phiri.

Dynamos Striker Epoupa turned from hero to villain just before the end of the match when he was given a red card in the 88th minute.

After referee’s decision to dismiss Epoupa, Dynamos fans were left dejected and started throwing missiles in to the pitch.

The action was stopped for some few moments. However the referee blew his last whistle with the scoreline tied at 1-1.

Dynamos are now third on log while Highlanders remains on 9th position.
