Zimbabwean side Chicken Inn upset highly fancied Sundowns

Result: Chicken Inn 1-0 Mamelodi Sundowns
Date: 13 February 2016
Venue: Luveve Stadium
Mamelodi Sundowns lost 1-0 to Chicken Inn on Saturday in their CAF Champions League encounter.
The hosts went toe-to-toe with the Brazilians from the get-go as the game was evenly contested in the early stages.
Obadiah Tarumbwa had one of the first real chances of the game in the 17th minute, but he sent his effort well over the top of the bar.
Some good skill from Edmore Chirambadare saw him nutmeg Asavela Mbekile before sending a cross into the area, but Tarumbwa misses the ball. Mbekile was substituted shortly thereafter as he fell awkwardly.
Chicken Inn opened the scoring in the 36th minute when Mischeck Katsvairo produced a terrific shot to find the back of Wayne Wayne Sandilands’ goal.
Cuthbert Malajila was introduced at half-time as the visitors went on the offensive in search of the equalising goal.
However, Chicken Inn were dealing with the Brazilians’ threats and were keen to look for their second via a counter attack.
Sundowns enjoyed long spells in possession towards the end of the game but struggled to create clear-cut chances as the Zimbabwean outfit defended resolutely to claim the win.
‘Downs will host Chicken Inn in Pretoria in two weeks for the second leg.
Here’s how they lined up:
Chicken Inn: Chipezeze, Bernard, Lunga, Jackson, Mhlanga, Phiri, Kutinyu, Majika, Tarumbwa, Katsvairo, Chirambadare
Sundowns: Sandilands, Langerman, Nthethe, Arendse, Mashaba, Kekana, Modise, Mbekile, Zwane, Dolly, Castro
