St. Joseph’s Youth have abandoned their Sunday fixture against Agro Chemical in the National Super League citing security fears at the match venue Muhoroni Stadium.

In a letter to the NSL, which both teams and the match commissioner signed, the Nakuru based side explained their decision was informed by the Football Kenya Federation move today to ban the stadium for security reasons.

“We would like to inform your office that we did not play because of the suspension of the match venue (Muhoroni Youth), we fear for our safety,” the letter drafted by the team manager Nelson Mudanya reads.

Ironically, the venue hosted a FKF Division 2 match between Muhoroni Young and Tunwek FC in an early kick-off Sunday.

Agro got the nod from FKF to shift the match from Chemelil Sugar Complex where it was initially booked to Muhoroni Stadium.

The decision was aimed at bringing the match close to their home fans and to save costs.

Agro are currently 16th on the log after 11 fixures with eight points while St. Joseph’s Youth are 17th with 5 points.
